Prof. Patrick Deboosere (Vrije Universiteit Brussel)
Patrick Deboosere is scientific director of Interface Demography at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. He has been teaching demography, research methods and statistics at the VUB and the Université Libre de Bruxelles. His research is focused on population health, ageing and socio-economic differentials in mortality and health. He also published on households, migration and urban demography. Patrick Deboosere is recognized as expert in the use of administrative data for scientific research and has been member of several international working groups (EU, OCDE). He is president of the Vereniging voor Demografie and currently chairs the Belgian High Council for Statistics.
